ARTIST'S STATEMENT
All of my one-of-a-kind pieces begin as a length of natural white silk stretched on a large horizontal frame. This is my blank canvas that I transform using silk dyes, artist brushes and my ideas and inspirations for colors and design. Painting each piece individually allows me to create not only a garment, but a wearable work of art.
I use layered freehand watercolor techniques to create my mostly abstract designs. After dye painting the fabric is steam-set, cured, washed, dried, ironed and hand cut and hand sewn into one of my original designs. The excellent fit of my pieces is appreciated by the women who wear them. I hope you enjoy the work and dedication that goes into each piece.
My TravelWear and Silk Basics lines I have developed through my Venice, Florida store, Wild Orchid. These lines have been very popular. They fit and look great on real women and I encourage you to give them a try.

Q: What is the best way to place an order for the painted pieces?
A. Select the pieces you like and email lmtilson@verizon.net or call 941-485-7200 to ask about availability or special ordering. Many pieces are in stock and can be sent out immediately, or can be special ordered, which could take from 2-6 weeks, depending on orders in house. I will also email you images of what I have in stock in your size, if it isn't up on the website. I am adding new pieces weekly. Your credit card information and shipping information information will be taken securely over the phone or you can purchase through this site.
Q. What is the best way to order the TravelWear? You can order directly from this site or you can call or email the above addresses. Most of these pieces are in stock and ready for immediate shipment. If you size needs to be made, usual shipping time is only 1-2 weeks on these pieces.
Q: What are the shipping costs and how do you ship?
A: You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart. I generally ship USPS Priority mail unless another method is requested. Also, when you call or email an order you will be given the shipping amount of your order.
Q. What size do I wear?
A. Unless listed otherwise, my sizes are XS-XL. XS=4-6 S=8-10 M=12-14 L=16 XL=18
Q. What about returns?
A. All returns require authorization and must be returned within 10 days of shipment. Instructions will be given at that time. Special orders generally cannot be returned except for credit.
